How to choose the pellet burner matching my wood stove?

How to choose the pellet burner matching my wood stove?

Pellets are an economical and sustainable alternative to logs for the wood stove.

But how to choose the size of the pellet burner matching my fireplace?

The company CONFORT DOMO FRANCE (CDF) offers you different models of pellet burners and helps you choose the model that suits you.

A simple way: choose your QAÏTO according to the size of the logs

The fireplace of your wood stove corresponds to the size of the room to be heated:

  • ''Small'' size fireplace
    • if you use 30 to 35 cm logs, the fireplace will be considered small.
    • CDF therefore offers you the Q10 model, with a burner size of 25 cm.
    • CDF recommends filling it to 90% of its capacity, i.e., 1.7 to 1.8 kg of pellets
      • 1.8 kg of pellets corresponds to 8.3 kWatts of calories, but depending on the efficiency of your stove, you will only have 45 to 50% of this heat available (this is the difference between available and actual heat, thus between the input and output of the fireplace)
      • the combustion duration will be approximately 55 minutes to 1 hour.
    • Casting restores heat for several hours after the last flame.
  • ''Medium'' size fireplace
    • if you use 40 to 45 cm logs, the fireplace will be considered medium.
    • CDF therefore offers you the Q20 model, whose sole plate allowing the recovery of combustion air (primary air) measures 360 x 280 mm.
    • the burner size is still 25 cm
    • CDF recommends filling it:
      • on the 1st charge (cold burner): to 100% of its capacity, i.e., 2 kg of pellets
      • on the 2nd charge (hot burner): to 90% of its capacity, leaving part of the bottom of the burner without pellets to allow combustion air to pass and restart the flame without firelighters and without smoke.
      • 2 kg of pellets correspond to 9.2 kWatts of calories.
        • depending on the efficiency of your stove, you will only have 45 to 50% of this heat available to heat your living room
        • efficiency is the difference between the available and actual heat, thus between what you put in the burner (input) and what the wood stove returns (usable heat to heat your room)
      • the combustion duration will be approximately 55 minutes to 1 hour.
    • Warning: casting restores heat for several hours after the last flame.
